Our purpose is to achieve better utilization of the human ability and potential in business, industry, government, health care, and education in the greater St. Louis area by:
- Encouraging the participation, professional education and development, and affiliation of individuals or groups concerned with specialization areas of activities or interests within the broad field of training and development;
- Ensuring the appropriate programs and results are available for the preparation and educational growth of training and development practitioners.
- Providing a clearinghouse of information relevant to training and development and conducting liaisons with those organizations potentially capable of promoting the objectives of the St. Louis Metropolitan Chapter.
- Encouraging, sponsoring or conducting appropriate research and ensuring the publication of results in the field of training and development.
- Promoting an understanding of training and development as a basic responsibility of management.
- Ensuring continuity of effective organizational leadership by assisting management to motivate career-minded personnel to achieve individual growth goals.
- Providing effective and continuous leadership in the field of human resource development to assure a competent management work force.
- Serving the community as a catalyst in speeding the process of the development of human potential.
